On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an experienced M365 Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of Microsoft 365 (M365) solutions. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure the successful architecture and integration of M365 tools across the organization. The Solution Architect will be responsible for defining the overall M365 architecture and ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.


Responsibilities:

• Architect and Design M365 Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of Microsoft 365 solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across the organization. This includes M365 components like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform, and related services.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical solutions that leverage the full capabilities of M365.

• Solution Development: Provide architecture guidance to development teams and oversee the configuration, customization, and deployment of M365 services. Ensure that solutions align with best practices, compliance, and security standards.

• Technical Leadership: Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert on M365, providing direction on platform features, capabilities, integrations, and the overall roadmap for M365 within the organization.

• Security and Compliance: Implement and advise on M365 security features, data governance, compliance, and retention policies in line with organizational requirements, especially for healthcare environments.

• Integration and Automation: Lead the design and integration of M365 with other enterprise systems, leveraging Azure Active Directory, Power Automate, and third-party tools as needed.

• Technical Documentation: Produce high-level and detailed architecture documents, roadmaps, diagrams, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with M365 developments and provide recommendations to optimize the existing environment for performance, cost, and new features.

• Support Project Delivery: Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure that M365 architecture supports the delivery of project milestones on time and within budget.

• Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and partners as required, ensuring alignment on technical solutions and managing contract negotiations and performance.

• Training and Knowledge Transfer: Provide guidance and mentorship to internal IT teams and end-users regarding M365 tools and best practices. Lead workshops and training sessions where necessary.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

• 7+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a focus on Microsoft cloud technologies, including Microsoft 365 and Azure.

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale M365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.

• Expertise in Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Security, Compliance & Identity tools, and Power Platform integration.

• In-depth knowledge of M365 licensing models, security, and governance frameworks.

• Strong experience with data migration to M365 services, including Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

• Proven experience working in healthcare or similarly regulated environments is an asset.

• Hands-on experience with M365 security configurations (e.g., Data Loss Prevention, Advanced Threat Protection, Information Protection).

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Certifications preferred:

o Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

o Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

o Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals


Preferred Experience:

• Experience working on M365 implementations within the healthcare sector, understanding the unique compliance, security, and operational requirements.

• Knowledge of Agile project delivery methodologies and tools like Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, or Monday.com.

• Experience with hybrid deployments, identity and access management, and federated authentication solutions.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.

• Proficiency in creating technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and roadmaps.

• Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment 


Hourly rate: $105 - $115 per hour
